The Swan River Centennial Arena was filled almost to capacity on Dec. 21 when the SVRSS Tigers’ Hockey team entertained fans throughout the Valley during their 60 minutes of action against the Roblin Raiders.

The Axemen took to the ice on Friday (Jan. 4) to host the Shoal Lake Eagles. Tempers flared as both teams put forth their best efforts.

Local players received specialized training on Dec. 28 at the Swan River Centennial Arena, when Swan Valley Minor Hockey board member Daniel Martyniuk invited two Dauphin coaches to town to put on a goalie camp for skaters that stand as the last line of defence.

Stampeder fan favourite, Nic Cowan takes a walk down memory lane saying if the Stamps hold a 25th anniversary get together he pledges to attend, saying he heard so many great stories from the weekend event this past September.

It was a busy weekend for the SVRSS Senior Basketball teams as the boys and girls each travelled to different towns to make a name for themselves within the league.
