Local Conservative Victory

Although all polls were not reported at press time last night, it was clear early on that the Conservatives would take the seat for Dauphin–Swan River–Neepawa and would be represented by newcomer Dan Mazier following the completion of the 2019 Federal Election on Oct. 21. Mazier, who replaced Robert Sopuck as the local candidate when Sopuck announced that he would not be running in this election, took a strong lead, holding approximately 65 percent of the area’s vote. On a Federal level the Conservatives weren’t so successful, falling to the Liberal’s minority government. Here, Mazier converses with supporters at his campaign party in Neepawa on election night.
