Showcasing Their newly learned skills

It was a very busy Saturday at the Swan River Centennial Arena as the Swan Valley Initiation program hosted their annual one-day tournament. Ten teams in total participated representing Dauphin, The Pas, Roblin, Hudson Bay and the Swan Valley, some with multiple teams attending.
“The tournament overall went very well,” said Head Coach Dallas Anderson. “The rink was packed with 37 local children participating. There were numerous friends and family in attendance throughout the day cheering them on.”
The dressing rooms were also packed with parents and players getting ready for the action.  And, the ice surface was kept busy with four teams playing at the same time in half-ice games.
Anderson, Kolby Danielson, Pat Harness, Matt Dixon, Jordan Rooks, and Trevor Warburton lead the Valley teams as coaches.
“The future looks bright for minor hockey in the Valley,” said Anderson, referring to the skill level seen throughout the day.
While it will definitely go as an unforgettable day for the young players, walking away with medals and a whole lot of fun, we hope to see them continue their play through out the years and see them at many different tournaments in the future.
